Tranquillity in the City specialises in teaching yoga classes and sound healing events  to  both individuals and Corporate companies in London and surrounding North London boroughs. Yoga can reduce pain and stiffness, improve fitness, increase productivity and performance. Bringing a calm, clear mind and a strong, flexible body.  Reducing and managing stress and tension, regaining focus, and inspiring a better work life balance.

Aiming to inspire and empower people on their own journey, bringing guidance to those who are looking for very effective ways to cleanse their energy, raise their awareness and better their lives.    The style of Yoga taught does not overlook the energy, the mind. It is a complete form of Yoga. It addresses the body, the energy, the emotions and the mind.

Because of this strong results are seen through a regular practice - people come with problems in their body, energy, emotions and mind and solve them pretty quickly. In a world which is drowned in an inflation of Yoga which is taught as gymnastics /exercise, however the spiritual and healing benefits come much faster with correct breath / pranayama techniques which in addition to the dynamic sequencing, are a large focus of the classes and work shops.

Pulsing techniques are also practiced throughout class  sequencing, aiding the student both deeper into their practice, in addition to making the class more accessible for those with less mobility, any joint stiffness.

Three styles of yoga are taught - Cosmic flow which is slightly faster paced vinyasa style  with long sequencing, however still easily accessible to beginners. lunar flow, accessible all levels especially beginners and deep lateral flow which is especially helpful for anyone with injuries / lesser mobility in hips / backs to aid recovery and at the same time is a strong class for those wishing to deepen their practice with emphasis more on longer holds than flowing sequencing. Overall beginners find lunar flow and deep lateral flow a slightly easier starting point than cosmic flow.  Please contact us to check what classes are on which day if you have a preference.

Classes hosted around North & Central London to include packages for both corporate & individual needs.

TESTIMONIALS

''Brilliantly unique yoga class!I travel all the way from south London to north London to make her class. I've tried many yoga classes but none have managed to keep me interested enough to continue until I found Tasha. It is helping me cope with life's stresses . This class is a god send for me!''  Aylin Osman, South London.

It's a year to the day since my daughter dragged me to your class... I arrived unfit and self conscious. A year on and I attend at least one class a week and I am fitter than ever, with increased stamina, considerably lighter and toned with increased confidence that has spilled into all areas of my life!  Ruthie Clarke, Wood Green.

"Tasha's class is the first yoga session I ever attended, and I felt immediately accepted and welcome. Looking back, I can't believe I was intimidated by a warm room of yogis - they're some of the most patient, lovely people you can meet.

I don't know how she does it, but Tasha is able to instruct a class of vastly differing levels of ability. Complete novices (me) are able to stretch next to the super-advanced (that woman who was contorted into a pretzel). The new once-a-month Wednesday class is a great way to learn those pretzel techniques.

You certainly get your money's worth, with just under two hours on the Thursday session. The last 30 minutes is devoted to pure relaxation and meditation, and is often the most chilled out part of my week."
 Oliver Davis, Wood Green, London.

"By far the best yoga class I have been to. Great teacher and friendly class. Affordable and pace of class not too fast, unlike some other classes I have been to. I feel I have progressed with my practice and have gained the confidence to push myself that little bit further each time I go. Tasha’s classes give time out after a busy day at work. For the more advanced poses, alternative postures are given to cater for all levels. The style of teaching has given me the confidence to try new postures and gain more flexibility and stamina. I would recommend Tasha’s classes to beginners, intermediate and advanced level. I would also encourage people who have tried yoga but thought perhaps it was not for them to give Tasha’s classes a go.You may well change your mind! Amanda Guinchard, Finchley, London.

"This was my first ever yoga class after doing some basic moves from a DVD so it was good to finally have someone to point me in the right direction! Tasha the teacher is extremely encouraging and lets everyone go at their own pace, with no scarey competitiveness to aspire to. In the summer the classes are in the park and its so nice to be outside focusing on the trees while attempting your first tree pose :)

An affordable, friendly class for all levels. Also a great introduction to meditation and a brilliant way to relax after a day at work. I always leave the class in a much brighter mood than when I started and after 6 months of regular classes I've seen real progression which is very motivating."
 Katharine, North London

I have taken several classes with Tasha, my first Yoga class ever being a hot yoga class - I figured go hard or go home! I felt amazing after my first class and what I loved about Tasha was she didn't make me feel ridiculous for not being able to do everything as well as others, in fact she said she was surprised and pleased at how well I'd done. She explained what each move does for your body which was brilliant; if you have a particular ailment this is really good to know. I have a bad knee and she was always able to offer an alternative if a particular move would have put too much stress on it. The best thing about Tasha is that although she is a consumate professional, she doesnt take herself too seriously, making me feel relaxed and less self conscious. I think one of the hardest things about starting a new exercise, whatever it may be is feeling judged but I just felt powerful and competent, and that is largely down to Tasha's style of teaching. She is knowledgeable without being preachy - a skill so few master! I'd happily recommend Tasha's classes to anyone!     Carly Williamson, Barnet.

Your sessions have completely re-inspired my Yoga practice... thank you! The space you hold for us is so open, without judgement, bright and sparky!! I look forward to it every week!!! :-)" Martha Gittens, North London

"Excellent class very friendly and relaxing and challenging at the same time as Tasha says put all your troubles in a suitcase at the beginning of the class and i promise you by the end of the class that suitcase will be a lot lighter"
Fabio Falcini, London

I love Tasha's class. Tasha creates a great environment in which I can learn and push myself but I also feel relaxed and wind down and destress. Brilliant!  Katie Smith, Wood Green, London.
